We are holding this fundraiser for Davin to raise money to help with expenses not covered by insurance. He was born with a rare birth defect called Microtia and Aural Atresia, which means he does not have ear canals, ear drums, and has a deformity of the outside part of his ears. This also causes him to have moderate to severe hearing loss in both ears. We have found doctors in California that specialize in ear reconstruction, specifically for this birth defect. Davin will be undergoing his first of 5-6 surgeries, on March 10, 2011 in California . Each surgery will require a 1 ½ to 3 week stay. By having these surgeries to make him ear canals, ear drums, and Big Ears, it will also give him the gift of hearing, without having to wear his bone conduction hearing aids that he currently wears. Davin is a very happy, bright, joyful, loving, outgoing boy with an amazing personality that is looking forward to his “Big Boy Ears”. Thank you in advance!!
Shannon, I just happened across your blog and would love to connect. We also live in SW Michigan and have a son with BMA. We adopted him from China 1 year ago (he will be 4yrs old in June). Is there way to send you my email without posting it here in the comments?
